The Operations Group, Inc. (Ops Group) brings experience and expertise to operation managers, maintenance managers, and general management. See if you recognize a common frustration on the list below.

-
It's late, my line is down and I need it up right now.
-
How can I get the mechanical, hydraulic, conveyor, or PLC skills that I need to my operation now or over the weekend?
-
How do these components continue to fail and why doesn't my preventative maintenance program catch these issues?
-
Why do I never seem to have the right spare parts on the shelf?
-
What are my operators doing (or not doing)?
-
How do I stop leaving money on the table with all of this unplanned downtime?
-
Why do I never seem to have the time that I need to pull ahead of the problems?

We get it. When you're responsible to keep production up and costs down while keeping your people happy (or at least not wanting to leave) while pressing management for money to keep the machines working - sometimes things can get complex. While Ops Group can be your 'right now band-aid' to get it working, our real passion is in helping you build capacity so routine problems fade into your rearview mirror.
Our principals have a lot of experience building, running, repairing, and growing businesses so we recognize that a 'right now issue' gets the attention while other plans get developed to move away from everything just working to everything always thriving.

Atlas - building Stronger Networks
What drove The Operations Group (Ops Group) to create Atlas?

At its core, Ops Group was created for a single, simple purpose. Identify people who seek a stronger path for their lives and work to support them with the strengths and connections that we have been able to assemble as a team. That’s it – simple. ‘Help others achieve’ is our core belief…it’s our WHY.

We walk the path of operations, maintenance, management, and finance professionals and have come to know that a lot of what keeps us up at night has to do what where we spend our time during the day. Work, money, the future, family, our friends, and our health – and – normally, and sadly, seldom in that order. We have found that a lot of us can be too consumed with what is around us, that we struggle to find the time or energy to prioritize our ‘real goals’. We see what happens when we bring our frustration, fatigue, and fear home and undermining those that try to support us. In a world with too many problems, not enough skilled people, not enough capital, too many conflicting visions, and being told to get 10-pounds in a 5-pound bag (daily) – something always has to give – or at least it feels like it does.

Atlas is the culmination of a lot of research and a lot of passion that brings people in operational, general management, and maintenance leadership together to help each other as a peer group of like minds. We believe that gaining clarity on root causes combined with active and honest peer support can help us learn how to prioritize and move forward to change the outcomes that we get.

What is the significance of Atlas?

As fans of Atlas Shrugged (and the entire Ayn Rand collection), Atlas represents the strength and power that supports the world. We believe that rather than seeing Atlas as a crushed and near broken victim, we can see him as a coiled spring of boundless energy based on having clear goals and honest accountability. We see Atlas as strength and persistence that supports the vision for our own life in concert with trusted peers and friends working towards clear goals.

What a Peer group is NOT.

A Peer group does not have an agenda, it seeks to support members in their agendas. A Peer group is not a counselling or gripe session. It’s active listening and thoughtful questions that help bring clarity on submitted issues so that options can be weighed and formulated by the members.

The Fine Print.

Meeting are free. We meet monthly in small groups and always over a meal. We can share more but you need to know that we take these meetings seriously. We have meetings in Portland, Clackamas, and Vancouver.
